Load-shedding was the only bummer as they couldn’t finish their work on time, they were 3 days behind schedule but I won’t dwell much on that as it is something that affects us all. Description  Upholstered a two seater and two one seater verandah furniture which I have no complaint about. She accepted the job of curtains for two bedrooms and it became obvious once I had paid that she has no idea how to make curtains or measure for them. They are completely unusable and are an embarrassment.

Feedback  Upholstery work was done well, Yolanda conned me about being able to do curtains - the job was appalling and completely unprofessional. She hoodwinked me, she was unreliable, she was deceitful. Be very very careful about using her services. I stupidly paid up front as she played on my emotions - no money, arrived with SIX (if not 8) children, told me her husband would give her a hard time if didn't pay. It was a horrible experience and I am taking her to the small claims court in order to claim the +/1 R9000.00 for the so called curtains that are unusable. I gave her the opportunity of refunding me at least some of the money she has chosen to ignore that and has not paid back a cent. Her reliability is appalling however I suggest she publishes a book on excuses! Burning tyres, sick children, collecting medical drip, bakkie broken down. I counted 17 excuses.

Feedback  Yolanda was the only one on Kandua to come up, so I just went with them without reading reviews, boy how I wish I had! She collected the couch and I paid 50% upfront. She promised to deliver within a week because she had capacity. Closer to the time, she tells me there’s a couple of days delay from the Sunday, she’ll deliver on Wednesday. This whole time, doesn’t bother to keep me informed, on the Wednesday, she tells me that they’ll deliver on Sunday. Then of course on Sunday she had another story, and will finally deliver on Monday. When I inspect the couch on Monday evening, it’s of the poorest workmanship ever! They were so sparing on the amount of material used that my cushions were practically squeezed and reduced in size and as a result were harder than their normal fluffiness if only the same original generous amount of material was used. The white under couch plastic mesh that SHOULD NOT be visible on the outside was clearly visible because again they skimmed so much off the appropriate amount of material that they were supposed to use. The whole time she was making false promises, she ignored my calls and eons time even pretended that I called the wrong number. When you get a quote, Please read the fine print - you’ll see why those threats are made. They are so used to lying to clients that they have to add that clause. They are basically fraudsters that operate like gangsters when you demand that they bring your furniture! Shameless gangsters that give honest hard working small businesses a bad name. I’ve only ever good experience with using Kandua, but I can honestly say that I will never ever again!

Description  The company was paid to re-upholster my valuable furniture; a lounge suite (2 two seater couches) and two chairs.

Feedback  The company collected my furniture after I accepted the quotation, I paid a 50% deposit immediately, and the day before they promised to deliver, they requested the balance of the full amount. They were not honest, by this time they did not even start on my furniture, but they told me they were going to deliver. They were supposed to deliver on 27 July, and informed me that I had to pay the rest of the amount before they were going to deliver; but from that day they have been making very strange and different excuses every day when I contacted them, or just did not answer the phone. I am still waiting for my furniture. I have no idea what the end result will be, I have lost all faith in my fellow South African. I tried to support a small business, but next time I will think twice.

Feedback  Yolanda did upholstery work for my couches and fixed my bed base. l am happy with the workmanship which is very good, but l would to consider using her service again because of the trouble that l had to go through to get what l had requested. First she sent me pictures of materials and l chose the one l wanted only to realise that she had used a different material. When l asked her about it she said she only used the material that l had sent codes for, but clearly there was a big difference with the colour l had chosen and the one she used. She however went and changed to the right colour that l had requested. When it was time to deliver Yolanda refused to deliver the product to me before paying the balance. She has asked me to pay a deposit before the job started and l did. Our agreement was that l would get to see the product and see how it looks before paying off the balance. She completely changed the terms and eventually l then paid her. She went on to give me excuse after excuse saying she could not deliver because her buckie had broken down and many other things. At last she did deliver and the work was good but the trouble made me question the whole process.
