Renovator

Cost  The agreed price for the brick work was R1000.00 and R60.00 per m2.

Description  The job comprised of 2 requirements. The first requirement was to build a base for a shower and a row of bricks on the wall on which the shower frame will be attached and the second requirement was to tile the open plan area and bathroom walls.

Feedback  Clement undertook to perform both job requirements (brick work and tiling) as a Contractor. He had a tiler and a bricklayer on site. Clement did not manage the tiler and bricklayer but instead was helping both of them as they were not able to understand the requirement/ design properly and work independently. Whilst helping the one resource, the other resource was making mistakes and vice versa. Soon after they had started, I had to inspect their work almost every hour and on several occasions had to ask them to redo the work. Tiles were poorly cut and laid, 6 bags of porcelain tile adhesive was used to tile 5m2 instead of 15m2. I was told at the end of the day that i needed to get another 6 bags of tile adhesive. The row of bricks built against the wall was loose and the wall was unstable and not secure (Health and Safety risk). When Clement was asked if he had chiselled holes in certain spots in the wall to secure bricks to support the wall, he confirmed that he did chisell holes but when the wall was collapsed by the bricklayer to redo, there was only an indentation at the foot of the wall. I confronted Clement and he admitted to lying. The tiler was removing the conduit for electricity cabling instead of burying the conduit deeper into the floor. This was done in Clements presence and when confronted, Clement apologized. On day 2, he did not arrive by 10h00, I called him to enquire about his attendance and he arrived at 10h30 and took his tools and left. On his way out, he indicated that the job was taking him too long and that he was not making enough money from the job. Clement is not an experienced contractor, he is a person with a van working with 2 artisans and fronting as a Contractor. Clement is not skilled contractor or artisan in building and tiling which is evidenced when mistakes were made and he was going to pass the work as acceptable. We parted ways and agreed that no money was to be paid.

Description  Bar/entertainment area renovation. Removal of two arches and insertion of lintels to support upper courses of bricks.

Feedback  Owner supervised. Friendly team, cleaned up nicely to my liking when they were done.

Description  Took out an old jacuzzi undamaged. Retiled the area. Fixed a water damaged wall by replastering. Built a half wall. Rerouted the shower.

Feedback  They were always on time. Worked extremely hard. Worked as a team. Always neat and tidy. They cleaned up the area after the project was completed. Reasonably priced, was willing to negotiate. Respectful. Had all the tools they needed. Always has a smile. Came back to fix minor details. Very happy with the project.

Description  Clement and his crew built a 25 meter double brick wall with a doorway. The door was hung and supplied with locks in a very quick and professional manner. The wall was plastered and at completion, the site was cleared and tidied to my satisfaction.

Feedback  Apart from being a professional on the work fron,t, Clement is a very nice person.

Description  He installed a Kitchen Cabinet wth a double-bowl Sink + Sink Mixer

Feedback  Clement arrived on a saturday afternoon to assess the job requirement. We then went to kicthen cabinet shops to get the material and he also offered to collect the sink i bought at CTM Southgate. The job was done very professionally and He's highly recommended. Very professional and efficient.

Feedback  I have used him a couple of times, I am always impressed with the quality of his services. He replaced old water pipes, installed new taps, and fixed a leaking geyser. Clement is very good at what he does, which is why I prefer working with him all the time. He is a professional plumber who takes pride in his work. I find him to be a trustworthy person because most of the time, I leave him working alone at my house, and I have never missed anything. Clement is always available when I need him, and I do not hesitate to recommend him to others.
