Feedback  Mthabisi did all my kitchen cupboards and the bedroom wardrobes and his work was outstandingly good. He came to work on time and he finished on time. He had a team he was working with and he led the team well. Mtha was reliable and trustworthy and he communicated well. His services were affordable and I do recommend him to other customers.

Cost  This is what get interesting. First day, he came to do accurate measurements, he requested R6000 for materials, which I transferred the same day. The following day, he came to do more measurements and quote for the ceiling at R5000 including materials, rhinolite, lights etc. He needed R3000 for the materials for the ceiling, so I transferred R3000 that same evening. Two days later, he came with his crew at about 11am to start work. Immediately he called me aside, to complain that the work was too much, he under-quoted, he want R4000 more, the R9000 I have already transferred barely cover materials for the wardrobe. My wife requested receipt, he could only provide a receipt for R6800. He was adamant that all the money went to the cupboard materials, not enough for the ceiling. The following day, rocked up at 10am with his crew, worked only on the wardrobe not the ceiling. So I requested to go with one of his guys to buy materials for the ceiling...boards, rhinolite, screws etc. At the end of the day, wanted to be paid part of the labour, I paid him. The following day, he came at 10 am, the guys put up the ceiling boards, he wasn't doing anything. At about 2pm, we called him aside and asked when is he going to start with rhinolite, he said, we never spoke about the rhinolite, my wife lost it (how can you quote R5000 to put up ceiling boards, why do you give us a list of rhinolite materials when you plan on not doing it). I also just told him to take his tools and get out of my house. He then apologized for basically holding us at ransom. He then promised to bring a specialist of rhinolite, we agreed on the total labour of R7500 as I was buying material myself. On Sunday, he came with specialist, rhinolite was done, as usual he wanted payment, I kept paying until only R2000 was outstanding. Rhinolite to 2 days to dry, he came back yesterday, fitted the lights and completed the shabby wardrobe. My wife pointed some snags, which he was not prepared to fix. I said to her, I just want to pay Mtha so that he get out of my house, and I don't want to see him again.

Description  First of all, I regret why I hired Mtha for the job. The job was simple. Replace a brick built-in wardrobe with a modern wardrobe. He quoted for 2 options 1. Take out doors of current wardrobe, put a sliding door. Quote R7800 2. Break brick wall, take out doors and old cupboards, replace with new modern wardrobe. Quote R9500 The difference between the two quotes was about R2000. So, I opted for Option 2, more expensive by about R2000. Both inclusive of materials and labour.

Feedback  There's nothing that will help Mtha improve because he is untrustworthy, he lies, extort, changes prices daily. He thinks of himself as being smarter than anyone else. When he started I promised 3 additional rooms that require renovation. From the experience I went through, I will never use or recommend him to anyone.
