Description  Geyser hot water failure diagnosis.

Feedback  When Bruce called me about the job, I asked for an estimate to repair a geyser not giving hot water. He insisted that he could not tell me until he diagnosed the work required. On investigation, it turned out the geyser element and thermostat had failed. He then proceeded to quote R1250 for the element (which is R250 at the shops) and R250 for the thermostat. Labour to do the installation would be another R1400. Because I could not afford his steep prices, that’s when he asked for a R 300 call-out fee, which he could have told me about before he came. They left without cleaning because he hadn’t got the job. It turns out the thermostat had not failed & the gentlemen were just out for the kill. Be very careful in dealing with this man, insist on labour rates upfront otherwise you will be gouged.

Feedback  Bruce insisted on being paid R100 for coming to give a quote. This is against the Consumer Protection Act as nobody may charge for a quote. He calls it a "call out" free which is not what quoting is about. He is intimidating and refuse to listen and is insistent that you will pay him to get rid of him. Kandua need to refund me the R100.

Feedback  He is quite a good service provider who knows his work very well. My electricity was always tripping but Bruce came and fixed the problem for me. He traced down the problem, found it and then rewired the whole DB box. He did it excellently because now i do not have the problem anymore. He also installed my air con system professionally. He is a reliable person, he always shows up at exactly the promised time and he does his work excellently. His prices are also very good for the work that he does. I can certainly vouch for him because his service is always very good.
