The process behind diamond mesh fencing
- The wires are commonly made out of iron, stainless steel, aluminium or carbon. They are vertically woven and bent into a zigzag pattern, where each wire is linked to another, forming the diamond pattern.
- They are not welded very often, and are woven by hand. A manual machine or a fully automated weaving system assists with this part of the process. The wires are often galvanised, which gives the metal material even more strength and resistance to outdoor elements.
- After the mesh is woven, it is often dipped in molten zinc, which provides rust resistance.
