Feedback  Everson is a con artist, I was quoted for shuttle service included in Boksburg and Ballito. NO shuttle service arranged as he felt is wasn’t necessary even though I insisted and was quoted for it. In Boksburg they came into the complex with 2 small trolleys and then asked for my ex husband who was helping me to have my things loaded onto his bakkie and he had to drive them up and down to the gate. I explicitly told him that it’s unacceptable and he needs to deduct off the quote, as I’m not getting the full service quoted. He just ignored me. Eventually someone came along with a bakkie to assist, he said he was late, this was 2 hours after the agreed time. Everson was also 30 minutes late. They were on time the next morning, but again NO shuttle. When I asked about it he told me I said it was close to the gate. In my msg to him the previous night I told him to make sure the shuttle is arranged. He again ignored me. We had words the next morning, as I then told him to readjust the quote, because he still told me the quote is so much because of shuttle service in Ballito being expensive. This is after I initially told him I won’t be using him as I did get cheaper quotes. My load was for a small 2 bedroom flat. He tried to intimidate me and speak louder and over me and refused to offload my property before I paid the balance in full. I didn’t have a choice, but I told him that it’s fraud and he doesn’t deserve the full payment. He literally stood over me until I made an immediate payment. It took his guys hours to use the trolleys and Everson then started flagging down bakkies in the street and asked people in the Estate to load my things. Absolutely disgusting!!

Feedback  We read some wonderful reviews and spoke to people who highly recommended Everson and his team and decided this fun and professional team would help us make this move. Everson and Onward came for a tour to see the apartment and the goods they were going to pack and move before they gave us a quote. A date was set and deposit paid 6 weeks in advance. Everson’s team did not arrive on the day we had arranged. We spent a lot of time preparing for this day - including arranging leave from work and planning the trip to our destination. We received no communication about it. When asked where everyone was, Everson kept telling us they were on their way. They never came. Everson himself came the next morning with one person to pack the house. The delay cost us R3500 in accommodation alone. They did not have proper packing goods, tools, no boxes (we had some but had to arrange for the shortage at the last minute despite his promise on first meeting that he had enough 5 minutes away), no fragile stickers, they didn’t even bring scissors! They used our paper towels, scissors, and we had to borrow our neighbors drill and tools for them to use to do what they were hired to do. Everson used the bubble wrap that was to be used for our furniture to wrap the mattress, base and fridge he bought from us and the study chair we gave to him and when they ran out, expected us to go out and buy and pay for more. We refused and he went out and bought the smallest roll. My matresses (including one mobility mattress with electronic connections which we specifically requested be wrapped meticulously) were wrapped in cellophane, which arrived with holes in them and are now exposed to the dirt and bugs in storage. Our request to wrap especially fragile furniture properly that we knew was going into storage fell on deaf ears and our chairs, couches, cupboards, carved wooden tables, glass grocery jars, concrete decor was left unwrapped, unsecured and subsequently damaged. In their rush to meet a deadline, we caught them carelessly throwing things into boxes and ended up doing a lot of the packing ourselves that they were paid to do and even calling friends and family to help (luckily we had people who could). There was no consideration of our system to take stock of what was in each box so we are now having to redo everything they packed in storage! I am dreading finding my boxes of crystal glassware. Close to the end of the packing we were told that the truck is full and ended up giving away some of our furniture (worth over R7000). On arrival at our destination, WE were told to arrange labor to come help unpack the truck. Everson then held the truck ransom and refused to offload anything until the final payment was made, despite our concerns that things may have been damaged in transit. He wouldn’t budge on this. Once we made the payment, we found someone else’s furniture was packed in our truck, loaded on top of our kokerboom tree, which had most of its branches broken on arrival. I feel it is necessary to mention that the furniture that wasn’t ours was wrapped and protected immaculately - corners of tables were secured, chair arms and legs were covered with cardboard and cellophane. I wish I could say the same for our furniture. Everson was not apologetic or sympathetic for his tardiness, for the breakages, for the poor quality packing. He did not budge on his price, given the cost to us, claiming he made a charity trip. His staff worked 2 full days and we bought them food, snacks and drinks to keep them going. He took the credit for this. He is a sly charmer and smooth talker and wiggles his way out of his responsibilities. We were a mom and daughter duo making this move and feel like he took advantage of our softness. He even had the audacity to ask me who would marry my daughter when he was confronted by her about the poor packaging and damages. Onward, the mastermind truck packer, was incredible. He did an amazing job of packing the truck. He gets 10/10 from me for filling that truck up efficiently and securely. Unfortunately, overall we had a poor experience. Now we wait to see if anything will come of the insurance policy he claims was included.
