Description  I work for a family and over the last few years he has done a number of jobs for them including rebuilding walls, damp-proofing, roofing and painting. He is much a very good builder and always does excellent work

Feedback  Hes always on time, has done multiple jobs for the family I work for and I have recommended him to numerous people. The only issue I can think of is sometimes he takes longer than estimated to finish the work.

Description  He's been working for me for 15 years and has always kept a good standard of work. He does maintenance work here at Universal Paints and has done work for me privately over the many years. Jobs he's done include painting, plastering, bricklaying and building.

Feedback  He has built up good trust over the 15 years he has worked for me. He is honest and reliable. At Universal Paints I never hesitate to refer him to clients in need of an artisan with his skills.

Description  I am a trustee at Craighall Estates and have seen several of the jobs Joel has done in the complex, as well as those in my unit. He painted the inside of my unit in our complex. We had a contracting company repaint the whole complex a few years back. They did a horrible job. Joel has been fixing their mistakes ever since, along with several other jobs. He has built and plastered garden and thicker perimeter walls. He has repaired big cracks in walls: re-bricking (where necessary), re-damp proofing, re-plastering and repainting. He has damp proofed on a couple of the balconies. He has replaced old worn putty in window frames and repainted the frames. He has done several more jobs - the list goes on: He has repaired dado rails and done beautiful tiling. 9 times out of 10 he has has pinpointed leaks more accurately than leak detectors. A waste pipe originally installed upside down and that leaked for 5 years, but was not detected Joel did detect. He has built retaining walls and braai. He does beautiful paving, cutting out destructive roots after poisoning them. He fixed up a bathroom after the original builders left it with several faults. His costing includes materials.

Feedback  Joel is generally good with his hands. I went to work and left him with his son and relative alone in my house - I trust him in my home. I can leave him in charge and the job will get done. He gets all the materials exactly as requested. He meets as arranged, and only on exception does he arrive late - but then takes responsibility. His team puts sheets over furniture and they sweep up after themselves. He stores tins and equipment in unobtrusive areas. The poor guy had his car stolen twice with expensive equipment, but I was impressed at how he just carried on doing his job. He is resilient. He is reliable, honest, hardworking and serious about his job - that's why we've kept him at Craighall Estates. Once he worked on a Saturday to finish the job at no extra charge. He's quick and thorough and comes in at short notice with no problem.

Description  Joel had been doing smaller jobs such as painting, tiling and other maintenance work for me over the years. Subsequently I developed confidence in his ability so I got him to do a full home refurbishment for me. Which he did excellently.

Feedback  Joel and his team are trustworthy, sometimes they get the materials for me. He charges reasonably and always leaves my place neat and tidy after a job. He is a good guy and I'd recommend him to friends and family.

Description  Joel and his team have done numerous jobs for me over the years. He has installed my kitchen and he does maintenance work for me and my neighbors in the Craighall estate. This includes painting and woodwork.

Feedback  Joel and his team are neat and tidy, they clean up after each job. I would also say he charges reasonably and he has never done anything to question my trust of him, over the years.

Description  Joel has done numerous paint jobs for me over the last 12 years. He really is excellent at what he does.

Feedback  Him and his team are neat and tidy, they charge very reasonably. I like the fact that it is a family run operation and he gets his sons involved. My only issue is he isn't always punctual, but besides that he is brilliant.

Description  He comes in every 12-18 months to do maintenance work on my home. This includes woodwork, touch up jobs, painting and sanding.

Feedback  He is generally affordable and I trust him. Normally he leaves a team with me so that we can get jobs done as quickly as possible. My only issue is sometimes he communicates poorly and he is not always punctual.
