Description  I would like to provide an update on Mr Phiri Makho, the service provider who was supposed to service my alarm system. I wrote a complaint to Kandua and a negative review on his profile. I was subsequently called by Mr Makho who offered to come back and finish his job. I had a long discussion telephonically with him and subsequently face to face when he arrived at my house. He apologized and I accepted his apology and allowed him to continue and finish the work he had left behind. He arrived on time to finish the job, worked diligently and extremely professionally and completed the entire job. He rewired all my beams and sensors, reconnected my CCTV, and serviced my gate motor and all remotes and cellphone monitoring. This guy is humble, hardworking, and extremely knowledgeable in security systems. I had a long talk with him about the importance of communication and honesty. His biggest problem is managing multiple bookings and seeing them all to completion. I indicated to him that some of us understand this dilemma, especially for black owner managed business in South Africa with its troubled past. All he needs to do is be honest about this predicament and communicate it as such with his clients- he must not resort to running and hiding as if he has done something wrong- it is a natural problem of running your own business that all business people experience. Even big multinational companies sometimes fail to meet their obligations as promised. The moral of the story? There is more to running your business than just skill and hard work, soft capacities such as honesty and communication are equally important. I would like to personally express my appreciation to Mr Phiri Makho for allowing us to correct this matter and restoring my faith in him, I will use his services a million times more and would encourage others to do so, especially with his very competitive pricing.

I called Makho and he came and he diagnosed the gate and he told m that there were some wires that were not connected properly and he resolved the issue. He was done in about half an hour. I was happy with the service. He was very professional and timeous. He is good at what he does and he is knowledgable about it too. His price was reasonable and I do not have any complaints regarding his work. I can recommend him without a doubt.

Description  Failed to deliver service and disappeared without a trace

Feedback   I completed an alarm service request on land ya website and was contacted immediately by Mr Makho who sounded professional and reasonably priced to come and service my home alarm system and CCTV. We agreed pricing and that he would begin work the next morning at 08:00. He arrived on time for work as agreed and started working on my alarm system immediately. An hour later he informed me that he needs cables to install in some of the lines which he doesn’t have and is rushing to the shops quickly to get them. That was the last I saw of the man. He disappeared like thin air. Four hours later I phoned him to enquire about the hold up. He answered my call and told me he had rushed to go complete another job elsewhere but he was done and was actually on his way back to my house and will arrive “now now “. Another five hours later now now had not happened and my repeated calls to him are now been ignored. Not only did this man leave my house a mess with wires hanging everywhere inside out, he also compromised my security system and left it hanging. His disappearance also worries me in terms of items that might be discovered as missing later. I feel like I opened my house for a criminal who came in and did his thing and then just disappeared like that.

Feedback  The guys started the job on day 1 and then gave the job to someone else on day 2 . On day three he dropped of his assistant . In a weeks time the entire gate rail fell apart and he did not pitch for his appointment . This happened again and this time he did not even bother to return calls . He left the place in a mess and i had to get someone else to finish the job . The guys is not professional at all but tries to put up a professional front . He starts off at a low price to get the job and then the prices are high . Stay away at all costs
