Feedback  Both him and his team were constantly late. The paving stone that was initially shown to us was not delivered and a substitute had to be agreed upon. The workers wasted time resulting in a 10 day period turning into a 3 week joke. My wife an i had to leave work frequently to accommodate this delay. Sand from the removal of the rock work was unnecessary kept on the lawn which then killed the grass and now has a large bald patch in the garden. The cement was not calculated properly and excess was used resulting in a space around the pool with exposed cement not covered with paving stones. initially we ask that the paving be done right to the wall. This was not done and when i asked him about it he said that he would sort it out. He did this by just cover it the space with cement. There is still a patch in the pool that was not painted on the first step. He did not know how to fit the leaf catcher and i had to watch a tutorial online and then explain it to him with Pictures. No arrangements have been made for the follow up maintenance as mentioned on the quote. Most of the days Mandla was not on site, he was busy with other jobs. The mosaics around the pool was not properly spaced out and has white spots forming on it.

As with any small contractor one is always concerned about meeting deadlines and not delivering as promised but in this instance I I did not have this concern. One should understand that with a small business one needs to be mindful of the cashflow required to obtain materials. Hence my recommendation is that the quotes be split to indicate materials cost and the payment associated with such a cost. A second aspect that one needs to be mindful of is the guarantee. This needs to be formalised as there is nothing currently that indicates this. Overall I am satisfied with his work and would certainly recommend him. Once all the groundwork was done he noticed that the valve at the bottom of the pool was missing a spring and plug, which het fitted free of charge. After the job was done we filled the pool with water and Mandla came over to do the necessary water checks and to confirm all was in order. He noticed that the solar panel had a leak which the then also fixed. I can recommend Mandla for any pool job. He is very professional, trustworthy and punctual.

I understand that this was quite a challenging job that he had to do, so even though I could see that he was struggling with it, fortunately I know a lot about building and I work from home so I was able to step in a few times and help him out. For this job we were not using the ordinary mosaic tiles, we were using italian tiles, so it was something different for him that's why he needed some prompting. The marble lighting was also not as smooth as I wanted it to be. There were also a few times when he wouldn't come through at all and I had to do the job for him. In the end, he did come cheaper, so I was happy about that.

The light is now not functioning as majority of the LEDS have blown.
