Feedback   !!!!!!!!!!!! SCAMMER ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! My first impression of Thabo was that he is a well spoken gentleman who appears quite knowledgeable (He is supposedly a civil engineer) When I received his first quote, I noticed that the material prices were heavily inflated (50%-100% more than commercially available material prices). When I questioned Thabo about this, he claimed that he "accidently" used insurance prices for the quote and that the sliding door he had to fit was not standard size and had to be custom made (which was a lie) Thabo's price for labor was 4 times higher than the cheapest quote I received from another Kandua contractor (But I have learned to never go for the cheapest quote - they normally under quote just to get the job) Despite this - based on the good reviews here, I decided to go ahead with him (on condition that I supply the materials). I paid the R11,730 deposit as required. The night before the job was to start, Thabo informed me that I had to pay extra for the site clearing of the retaining wall (I had to negotiate with his workers and "give them something extra"). He also let me know that the brickwork for the braai was not possible and had to be built another way (which would be less work for him) When he arrived to start at 09h22, I informed him that I was not going to pay extra for anything and it was mutually decided to not go ahead - he promised to refund my deposit asap. After numerous promises and lies, I still don't have my deposit back and now it appears that he has supplied me with a false business address (I tried to serve a letter of demand)
