Cost  R1050, which was to be increased to R1500 on completion of the job, but he was terminated before completion.

Description  He tried to repair a pool leak, but it was unfortunately unsuccessful.

Feedback  It started off on the wrong footing. I suggested Vincent start on a day, without the forecast of heavy rain, but he insisted on coming on the rainy day. He was supplied the Leak detection report and proceeded to dig around the weir, which was obviously leaking. He used high pressure sealant to repair the crack. I paid him half the agreed price and he then pressurized me for the balance on his return home, but the repair hadn't been tested yet with the pump running. However another R300 was paid to him, in the interim. The tenants allowed the pump to run for two hours and the level dropped back down to where it had been before. In other words, the leak had not been repaired. This was reported to him, but he demanded I first pay him another R200 for Diesel up front, before he returns. All along he had an unpleasant and aggressive attitude, so I terminated his service. He tended to blame the customer for everything and not himself. As he had been paid just over two thirds of the agreed amount, without having repaired the leak, I requested he refund R500, which he refused to do. It's been a time wasting, unpleasant experience working with Vincent, so sadly cannot recommend him.

Feedback  We had some misunderstandings. We had asked Vincent to also maintain the pool upon arrival, and he promised us a clear, clean pool that would be swimmable the same day. It's about a week later and the pool is still cloudy and needing attention. To be fair, we did initially only request him to fix the pool pump, which he did. But we paid the amount we did because he promised us we could use the pool that afternoon. A few days after the job, I expressed my disappointment with Vincent directly and he was quite aggressive and defensive, even denying that he promised us anything....
