Description  Good day, Melan Plumbing and Projects continually contacted and connected with us and took on a bathroom and plumbing renovation project for our home in Sunninghill through your Kandua offering and they have performed extremely poor workmanship on the project. We would like to request that a Kandua representative visit our home to inspect the quality of the workmanship on our bathrooms. Not only have they mounted the shower enclosure incorrectly for the second time (upside down), they have poorly installed the shower trap for a second time, using mismatched grouts and adhesives to the point where it's cracking for the second time and will certainly leak and lead to damp problems. Added to the poor workmanship of the shower, they regularly opened and wasted several packs of grouting material and tile mosaic, but could not tile the area of the shower floor correctly. The also damaged that first shower trap and used a second shower trap we had stored that was not for them to use. The damaged trap alone was R1000! Furthermore, at the back of the house, where they performed plumbing to replace a drain, they did not replace the paving properly with the slope that it had originally, so now the water pools at the back of the house instead of flowing away. Why did he take on the job if he did not know how to slope the paving properly again? NOTE: We have paid this contractor timeously each and every step of the way as per his invoices (requesting direct payment to his bank account and not to you as Kandua), but he has constantly delayed us with poor workmanship, never arriving on time as arranged or never finishing a job on a particular day. We will make no further payments as outlined below for remedial work that we have to do. We must now hire and pay new contractors to fix the shower and paving as well as pay more money to replace the grout and mosaic tiles due to this ongoing challenge with this contractor. To be very clear, we have paid Melan Plumbing and Projects their final amount of R2098.00 and we have deducted the amounts to fix the areas they have performed the poor workmanship on as we are now paying people to fix their work as follows: 1) Remove and re-install the shower enclosure correctly 2) Remove shower floor mosaic and replace shower floor mosaic 3) Remove damaged shower floor trap and replace shower floor trap with plumbing that does not sink and crack 4) Remove and re-pave area outside of the kitchen area that wasn't sloped correctly where they worked on the drainage. Please note that we require your Kandua head office assistance in this regard. As I have said you are welcome to send a head office representative to assess the work today 25th Jan 2021 or tomorrow 26th Jan 2021, as we would like to have the repair work started as soon as possible. We have all the photographs of the first installation, as well as his second attempt to repair. We cannot continue on like this with this contractor. Please can Kandua contact me urgently to discuss and resolve the matter???
