Door & window trimming Fourways

An architrave is the moulded trim that frames a door or window opening. It covers the gap between the frame and the plaster and gives the opening a finished edge. It is fitted in three pieces with mitred corners.

Fitting architraves to a standard internal door costs roughly R450 to R900 per door supplied and fitted in Fourways, depending on profile and material. Windows are priced by size, and painting is usually extra.

MDF is smooth and affordable for painted finishes but should be kept away from wet areas. Pine is a good all-rounder. Meranti is denser and better for exterior doors and windows or where a stained finish is wanted.
